SO our injury list begins (the injury / covid players thread)
Arthur Masuaku has withdrawn from the DR Congo squad with a knee injury.

Bloody pointless internationals
This is why I hate our players being called up.

"I’d rather work with a small squad than a big squad. It’s always easy to bring somebody out of the Academy when there are spaces, and I’ve always wanted to have a Club where those young boys feel there’s a chance to break through."

Cue Patrice Evra/Nasri or some other cunt on a 6 month deal

Re: SO our injury list begins
If he's properly injured, then Diop at the back and Cresswell on the left. Easy. Not great, but easy.

Cresswell at wing back is absolutely tragic.

Re: SO our injury list begins
Could be worse.
Our ‘success’ lately is because we have had 11 grafters on the pitch who can run around, all playing for each other.
There’s been no fancy dans out there meaning it was like going out with 10, sometimes 9 men.

"Not great"

Understatement of the year.

Re: SO our injury list begins
Imagine if I had said to you at the start of the season, that a thread would appear on here in October bemoaning that Masuaku was injured which pretty much ruins our whole formation?

Re: SO our injury list begins
Ryan manning in then surely

Shouldn’t cost more than £5m, last year of his deal etc

Longelo? We saw Moyes throw Ngakia in out of nowhere last season, could Longelo come in at LWB?

Diangana?

Re: SO our injury list begins
Cresswell will be fine at wing back. The bloke can't defend but he crosses well. Textbook wingback.

Calm down you tarts.

Stowie.40 11:24 Fri Oct 9
Re: SO our injury list begins
He wouldn’t but it isn’t just about putting him wing back, the balance of the Side goes. Ogbonna would have to play LCB for us to keep the balance but we’re then weak down the middle of the defence.

Re: SO our injury list begins
That's why we want to buy a CB. Try to keep up.

Re: SO our injury list begins
But we aren’t are we, we aren’t gonna sign anyone so it then becomes a problem.

Re: SO our injury list begins
If it's an injury he can recover from by next week, this is GOOD news.

Stops him from getting properly injured.

Re: SO our injury list begins
A returned-to-form Balbuena is like a new signing.

A recovered Diop is like a new signing.

Re: SO our injury list begins
Diop in at CB and Cresswell to LWB.

Get Manning in and no issues.

The short term memory loss on this thread is hilarious.

Re: SO our injury list begins
Hopefully it’s just being sensible by making up an injury to save him a trip to Africa where he would get coronavirus, BAD AIDS & malaria

Everyone does it.
Sterling has a pretend injury doesn’t he?

Isn't that what a lot of people on here have been wanting for years as well? It IS a good thing provided the kids are good enough. (i.e. Johnson and Ngakia both did very solid jobs when called on last season and this- and of course the departed Grady)

However, I realise the context under which it's been said on this occasion and while it's good to give some of them a game it's no excuse for the owners raping/mismanaging the squad.
